Great Tribulation 11: Mission Accomplished
And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come. (Matthew 24:14)

The Beaver Creek Christian Community
July
Exhausted from their two-day wilderness trek across Prince of Wales Island, Katie, Rachel, Ben, Raphael, and the three young men from the In-Processing Center (IPC) stumbled into the Beaver Creek Christian community.
Beaver Creek residents all knew Ben from their time at the IPC, so warm smiles and welcoming embraces instantly enveloped them, washing away the weariness that settled deep in their bones.
The aroma of hearty venison stew and freshly baked sourdough bread wafted through the air, drawing them towards the communal dining area. They gathered around long wooden tables, savoring each spoonful of the nourishing meal as laughter and conversations flowed freely. For a moment, the weight of the world seemed to lift from their shoulders.
As the evening drew to a close, their hosts guided them to the cabins where they'd shelter for the night. The soft mattresses and cozy blankets felt like heaven after the hard ground they had grown accustomed to during their journey. Sleep claimed them swiftly, giving their bodies much-needed rest.
The next morning, Peter, the Beaver Creek community leader, extended an invitation that touched their hearts. With their homes in Kataan destroyed, they invited Rachel, Katie, and 16-year-old Raphael to permanently join their Beaver Creek community. Rachel and Katie gratefully accepted the vacant cabin they provided, while Raphael found a temporary home in their longhouse until he could construct his own dwelling.
But first, they needed to return to the IPC. Before their departure, the small community of 14 husbands, wives, and kids gathered around them, hands outstretched in prayer. Their voices rose in unison, petitioning God to give Katie, Rachel, Raphael, and Ben wisdom, protection, and supernatural power as they embarked on the final leg of their mission to spread the gospel message. The fervor of the community's prayers filled the air, igniting a renewed sense of purpose within their hearts.
Their Mission Completion Plan
At the IPC, Katie and Rachel divided the remaining six unreached villages between them. Katie would bring Raphael in her plane, while Rachel and Ben borrowed a boat to reach their assigned villages.
Katie also planned to fly over all the dispersed communities to learn whether any others had been bombed. The two women agreed to reunite at Beaver Creek after proclaiming the gospel ultimatum to their respective villages.
As they prepared to depart, Katie turned to Raphael. “Hey, would you like to learn how to fly the plane?”
Raphael’s eyes widened. “Really? You’d teach me?”
Katie grinned. “Of course!”
In the floatplane, Katie explained the controls. Raphael listened intently, absorbing every detail. Once they were airborne, Katie let him take the controls, guiding him through the basics of maintaining heading, altitude, and navigating.
Raphael was a quick learner, and soon he was flying with growing confidence. “This is amazing!” he exclaimed, his face lit up with excitement.
Katie laughed. “You’re a natural. Keep this up, and you’ll be a pro in no time.”
Healing
They visited the first village, where Katie preached the gospel ultimatum with boldness and clarity. Raphael watched in awe as a woman with severe rheumatoid arthritis was instantly healed before accepting the message. The woman, who could not walk without pain for years, danced around the village square, tears of joy streaming down her face. The miracle served as a powerful testimony, drawing more than half the village to turn away from Hussein’s regime to follow Christ.
Opposition and Fear
In the second village, they faced opposition from Hussein’s loyal supporters. Some villagers, having heard about the public executions of those who refused Hussein’s new implant, were paralyzed with fear.
Katie addressed their concerns head-on. “Listen, friends. I know you’re afraid. But the truth is, we’re all going to die within a few years, even if you accept the implant. So, the question is, where will you spend eternity? If you choose Christ, you’ll have the assurance of heaven, no matter what happens in this life. But if you reject Him and obey Hussein, you’ll be separated from God forever in hell. Isn’t it better to take a chance on suffering now and gain eternal life than to follow the Devil and suffer forever?”
Her words struck a chord. Several villagers stepped forward to accept the gospel ultimatum, even in the face of persecution.
Survivors
As they flew to the last village on their list, Katie noticed smoke rising from it. Her heart quickened as they drew closer, revealing the charred remains of the last village on her list. Lilith’s people must’ve thought this was one of our Christian communities. Landing near the shore, they picked their way through the devastation, searching for survivors.
An elderly man emerged from the forest, his face etched with grief. He told them how Lilith’s soldiers had come in the night, destroying their supplies and sinking their boats before disappearing into the darkness.
He and his family weren’t believers, but they’d been self-sufficient outside Hussein’s system. The father, tears streaming down his face, accepted the gospel ultimatum and pledged his family to serve Christ. After determining there weren’t any other survivors in the village, Katie promised someone would be back to pick up the man and his family and take them to the IPC, where they’ll be fed and cared-for.
Eagle Claw?
Having successfully completed her mission to proclaim the gospel ultimatum to her last three villages, but before returning to Beaver Creek, Katie guided Raphael toward the Eagle Claw community to learn why the Ham radio call between the IPC and Eagle Claw got terminated a few days prior. As they approached the Eagle Claw community, an ominous feeling settled in Katie’s gut. Raphael pointed at a pillar of dark smoke rising from the shoreline.
Katie’s heart sank when she realized Eagle Claw had suffered the same fate as Kataan. She landed the plane in the cove and taxied to the pebble beach.
Utter devastation. The village longhouse was a smoldering ruin, and its cabins were riddled with shrapnel. The smell was worse than Kataan because the dead bodies were more than four days old.
Raphael let out an anguished cry and sprinted toward a prone figure near the destroyed longhouse. Katie followed, dreading what they’d find. Raphael dropped to his knees beside the body, tears streaming down his face. “Miguel,” he sobbed, cradling his older brother’s lifeless form. “No, no, no...”
Katie placed a comforting hand on Raphael’s shoulder, then surveyed the carnage. She found Sophia’s parents and five other villagers among the dead.
After ten minutes, Raphael’s sobbing subsided.
“I found two shovels,” Katie said, holding out a shovel to Raphael. “Let’s bury them.”
Four hours later they dragged Miguel, Sophia’s parents, and five other victims’ bodies into a common grave. After covering the faces of the dead with four feet of soil, Katie spoke these words, her voice and her body trembling.
“Jesus said, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.’”
They walked back to the plane in silence. Katie’s mind reeled with questions. Who betrayed Kataan and Eagle Claw? Where was Sophia? How long can our Christian communities hold out against Hussein’s relentless persecution?
Rachel and Ben?
Katie and Raphael returned to Beaver Creek, exhausted. As they tied the floatplane to the dock a group of villagers rushed out to greet them.
“Welcome back!” Peter said.
Katie noticed Rachel and Ben weren’t with them. “Where are Rachel and Ben? They’re not back yet? We expected them to beat us here.”
Murmurs of worry rippled through the small crowd.
Katie calmed them. “Oh, I’m sure they’re fine. They just got delayed.” But even as she said the words, a sinking feeling settled in Katie’s gut. Rachel’s never late without a good reason.
“We’ll give them until noon tomorrow,” Katie announced. “If they haven’t returned by then, I’ll retrace Rachel’s planned route to see where they got hung up.”
The next morning dawned cold and gray, with no sign of Rachel and Ben. After a tense breakfast, Katie took off, alone, with grim determination etched on her face.
She flew to the first village on Rachel’s itinerary. All seemed quiet and normal. Villagers said Rachel and Ben had been there and left after proclaiming their message.
In the second village nothing appeared amiss, though the people seemed subdued, nervously watching the sky as if expecting danger to rain down at any moment.
Arrested
But in the third village, a gray-haired native grandmother told Katie, “Lilith’s soldiers seized your friends, arresting them for preaching rebellion against Hussein. The soldiers bound them and threw them into the belly of the police boat. They said they were taking them to Lilith’s guillotine.”
The Earth Helped the Woman
“But then, the boat hadn’t gone far into the cove when a miracle happened!” Gesturing wildly with her arms, she said, “A pod of six killer whales attacked the police boat! They smashed into the boat, and onto it, again and again until it capsized. All the people were thrown into the water, and somehow your friends’ bonds were loosed so that they could swim. The orcas . . . they ripped the wicked men apart, throwing them into the air, like they do with seals, to break their bones before devouring them .” She visibly shuddered at the memory.
“But your friends, bless them, the whales let them be. They swam back to shore unharmed. I think everyone who saw it fell to their knees right then, accepting their message as the truth.”
Katie’s eyes widened at the incredible tale. A phrase from Revelation 12:16 echoed in her mind, The earth helped the woman by opening its mouth and swallowing the river that the dragon had spewed out of his mouth.
The orcas, agents of the natural world, devoured the flood of evil the Antichrist sent against God’s servants.
Katie asked, “Are Rachel and Ben still here? Can you take me to them?”
“No, some believers in the village dried their clothes, fed them, and gave them a place to sleep last night. They left in their boat this morning.”
Thank you, Lord, for Rachel and Ben’s deliverance. But a shadow still clouded her thoughts as she flew back to Beaver Creek. How long can the Christian communities endure under this oppression?
Mission Complete
Rachel and Ben embraced Katie at the dock upon her return to Beaver Creek.
The next day, Katie and Rachel sat together on the porch of their small cabin, sipping steaming mugs of spruce tip tea as the sun peeked over the misty mountains. Raphael joined them, sitting on a log with his own mug of tea.
“Thank God,” Katie said, a smile spreading across her face. “We did it. Our mission is complete.”
She held up her hand for a ‘high five’ from Rachel and then Raphael.
Rachel nodded, her eyes glistening with a mix of joy and sorrow. “I know Moses is so proud. As well as Ethan, Juan, and Catalina. They’re all celebrating with Jesus now.”
What’s Next?
Raphael leaned forward, his brow furrowed. “What do you think will happen next in the end time?”
Rachel took a deep breath. “Well, Jesus said in Matthew 24:14 that the end will come after the gospel of the kingdom of God is preached to all nations. Assuming our 144,000 worldwide brethren also completed their missions, that requirement is now satisfied.”
Katie nodded. “And if we compare the patterns in Leviticus 23 with the prophecies in Daniel and Revelation, we believe Jesus will return on Yom Kippur—the Day of Atonement—three and a half years after Hussein sat in the temple’s holy place and proclaimed himself to be God during Passover, about two and a half years ago.”
Raphael said, “So there’s about one more year to go then?”
Rachel sighed. “Yes, and as we get closer persecution and disasters will increase. The Devil knows his time is running out and the whole earth is convulsing to expel him and his kingdom from creation. It’s gonna be hard. Jesus said that if these days weren’t cut short, no flesh would survive.”
Katie reached out, grasping Rachel’s and Raphael’s hands. “But we’ve done our part. Everyone in our region has heard the gospel ultimatum.”
Rachel said, “Right. Now we endure and watch for the Lord’s return. It won’t be much longer.”
Katie looked into the stars and said, “We’re almost there. Next year, in October, Hussein’s time will run out and Jesus will begin his rule over all nations for 1000 years.”
